Couplets is a series of one-of-a-kind collaborations that bridge the gap between literary arts (poetry, fiction, and nonfiction) and other art forms. Each event is conceived, curated, and created by a writer/artist pairing over a month and then presented for a single night.
Event admission is PWYC. All proceeds go to the collaborators.
Follow @CoupletsSeries on social media for announcements and event updates.
Couplets seeks expressions of interest for its second series of literary & artistic collaborations, beginning in K'jipuktuk / Halifax in 2021.
Couplets is open to established, emerging, and new writers & artists living in or traveling to K'jipuktuk / Halifax. Event details are determined by each writer-artist pair. Previous Couplets collaborations have
revisited and renewed existing work;
incorporated new response works and co-creations;
included collaborative performance, improvisation, and conversation;
and brought together literary arts with a broad range of other forms (e.g., music, sound art, comedy, theatre, performance art, painting, comic art, animation, film, and yarn bombing).
